US Involvelment in Latin America During Teddy Roosevelt’s Time US primary concern in Latin America was to maintain political stability in order to protect ourselves as well as our business and trade interests. To accomplish this, the Monroe doctrine was expanded to include the Roosevelt Corollary. The Roosevelt Corollary said that the United States would intervene in the internal affairs of Latin America through Military and Diplomatic actions in order to protect political stability and American interests. This policy was established without input from Latin American countries and put the US into the role of international police to maintain peace and order in the Western Hemisphere. Teddy Roosevelt’s philosophy was to â€Å"speak softly but carry a big stick† We also used â€Å"dollar diplomacy† which was the practice of replacing European loans with American ones in Latin America but then used military force to keep our investments safe. Children, young people and family’s needs can be very different, the composition of a multi-agency team will differ from case to case. It is important each practitioner brings with them their own specialist skills, so that the child, young person and family gets the best support possible. An integrated working are service hubs for the community bringing together a range of services, usually under one roof, whose practitioners then work in a  multi-agency way to deliver integrated support to children, young people and their families, for example extended services of Sure Start center. It includes people such as nurse, teacher, youth worker, sports coach, social worker, or any other member of the children’s workforce. Movie Analysis Hurt Locker - 1231 Words

The â€Å"Hurt Locker† by the filmmaker Kathryn Bigelow conveys several messages but I believe that the main message to the theme of the movie is presented at the very beginning of the film in the form of a quote. The quote that appears in the film states, â€Å"The rush of battle is often a potent and lethal addiction, for war is a drug.† This quote comes from the book ‘War Is a Force That Gives Us Meaning,’ by Chris Hedges, a reporter for The New York Times. I believe this message is the main theme of this movie as depict through the character Sergeant First Class William James played by Jeremy Renner. The focus of this film established its ability to emulate the truth about the chaos and catastrophic events of not only war but also the addition to war. The dirty truth of this statement echoes throughout the movie. Most every scene communicated this one central message. Addiction is not limited to drugs, alcohol, gambling, pornography, or sex but wars as well. Regardless of the drug of choice each share a similar fate. The destruction of what we love, people, children, sons and daughters, things/possessions, our principles, values and morals but most of all our sense self-worth and purpose in life. As with any addiction our thoughts become mental distortions of the experience suffered.
